Ghandhara Industries Limited (GIL), a local automobile manufacturer based in Karachi, has entered into a Technical Assistance Agreement with Isuzu Motors Limited, based in Thailand.
Through the aforesaid agreement, GIL have obtained a license to use the technical information and technical assistance from Isuzu with respect to the D-MAX pick-up, enabling GIL to manufacture, assemble and sell the Isuzu D-MAX pick up.
GIL plans to launch D-MAX ISUZU pick-up by mid 2018.
The Isuzu D-MAX comes from a lineage of the world’s toughest, most reliable trucks. Almost a century of truck-manufacturing DNA has gone into the Isuzu D-MAX to deliver a pick-up that truly redefines the category.
When launched, D-MAX should cost around Rs. 2.5 million to Rs. 3 million and could put serious pressure on Toyota’s Hilux and Hilux Revo models.
The major business activities of the Ghandhara Industries comprise of progressive manufacture, assembly and marketing of Isuzu truck and bus chassis and fabrication of Bus and Load bodies.
The company has provided impetus to the local manufacture of engineering goods. With the introduction of new models that compliment Isuzu products, additional opportunities are being availed to provide work for the company’s in house manufacturing facilities as well as for the vendors producing Isuzu parts locally.

Resultantly, GHNI script at the bourse went up to +4.07% or +Rs. 17.11 which is currently trading at Rs. 438.
